Golden Dawn Probationary WorkSee also: A Brief Overview of the First Order of the Golden Dawn This applies to those seeking Self-Initiation, i.e. those working on their own rather than within an order. The Cicero's in "Self-Initiation into the Golden Dawn Tradition" suggest that four months of probabtionary work should be carried out prior to attempting the Self-Initiation Ritual of the Neophyte grade. This four month period should consist of the following: First Month (Week 1 to 4)(a) Begin a Ritual Diary and Dream Diary (1) Perform the Daily Awareness Exercises, consisting of: - (2) Perform physical exercise.
(3) Perform daily Visualisation Exercise. (4) Perform daily Themis Meditation. (5) Perform Daily Adoration.
(6) Perform The Berakah Second Month (Week 5 to 8)(1) Continue performing the Daily Awareness Exercises, consisting of: - (2) Continue physical exercise. (3) Continue performing daily Visualisation Exercise. (4) Perform daily Maat Meditation. (5) Perform Daily Adoration
(6) Perform The Berakah Third Month (Week 9 to 12)(1) Continue performing the Daily Awareness Exercises, consisting of: - (2) Continue physical exercise. (3) Continue performing daily Visualisation Exercise. (4) Perform daily Thme Meditation. (5) Practice the Daily Adoration.
(6) Practice Bringing Down the Light. (7) Practice The Berakah. (8) Begin studying the First Knowledge Lecture (9) Begin working on your Lamens/Wands/Elemental Symbols/Both banners Fourth Month (Week 13 to 16)(1) Continue performing the Daily Awareness Exercises, consisting of: - (2) Continue physical exercise. (3) Continue performing daily Visualisation Exercise. (4) Perform daily Thme Meditation. (5) Practice the Daily Adoration.
(6) Practice Bringing Down the Light. (7) Practice The Berakah. (8) Continue studying the First Knowledge Lecture (9) Continue working on your Lamens/Wands/Elemental Symbols/Both banners Final Probabationary Work (Week 17+)Learn and rehearse the Neophyte Self-Initiation Ritual When ready, conduct the Neophyte Self-Initiation Ritual. After the Neophyte Self-Initiation Ritual the next six months would be spent performing more exercises and continuing to learn and practice the First Knowledge Lecture.
